Will made by Duarte de Almeida Novais and his wife Joana Mariz in which they ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual pious obligation of ten masses celebrated every year, being seven in Castelo de Vide and three in São Pedro do Sul. They named their daughter Maria de Almeida as first administrator during her lifetime and, after her death, she would be succeeded by her second-born son, since the first born would succeed on the entail founded by the father of Duarte de Almeida Novais, and from there on the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. The institutors disposed that every administrator of the entail was obliged to annex a lease worth 6 alqueires of wheat after the seventh year of their administration.

Will by which Manuel Mendes Embaraçador expressed his wish to be buried in the cathedral of Portalegre and established an entail comoposed of his tapada da Ribeira with a perpetual obligation of an annual mass. The institutor named his son João Mendes as first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. No cleric could never succeed on the administration, as well as illegitimate sons nor any administrator who married with a person of the so-called "infected races".

Will by which Simão de Cordes, capitão de cavalos, son of João Baptista de Cordes and D. Cecília Vel, and widower of D. Catarina Pereira Brandão, expresses his wish to be buried in the chapel of Almas of the convent of S. Domingos de Benfica, Lisboa. He establishes an entail with his properties, which he bequeaths to his eldest son, Carlos Brandão Pereira de Cordes, and to his descendants afterwards. He orders his descendants to support the celebration of 30 annual masses in his chapel. If the lineage of his son is extinguished, the entail shall pass to the lineage of his nephew, António Luís de Cordes, with the obligation of a daily mass. Will by which Gaspar Gil Severim expresses his wish to be buried in the chapterhouse of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa and establishes two entails, which he bequeaths to his two sons, Francisco de Faria Severim, and Manuel de Faria Severim.
He gives to his son Francisco, among other properties, the houses in Lisboa which he had inherited from his parents, António Gil Severim and Catarina Lopes Morim. These houses had an obligation of thirty masses for the soul of António Gil Severim and a divine office and five masses for the soul of Catarina Lopes.
If the lineage of any of his sons is extinguished, their respective entail shall be inherited by the other or by their successors.

Will by which Francisco de Melo, Marquês de Sande, husband of D. Leonor Henriques de Torres, established an entail with the third part of his assets, appointing his son, Garcia de Melo de Torres, to be its first administrator. The entail's succession would be conditioned by the same clauses that Garcia de Melo, Francisco's father, had formulated when he founded his own entail. Francisco obligates his heir to support the celebration of annual masses in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, adding to the ones Garcia de Melo had established. He integrates in his entail a public debt instrument of 100 000 réis that his sister, D. Maria Madalena de Meneses, had bequeathed him with that same purpose. D. Maria Madalena had also bequeathed him another public debt instrument of 30 000 réis, with the obligation of celebrating a daily mass, wherever he chose. At the moment, that obligation was being fulfilled by the priest Bartolomeu de Abreu, family chaplain. After his death, it would pass to the friars of the convent of S. Domingos. His son Garcia de Melo should also succeed in the Morgado dos Torres and the institutor also nominated him in the travels to Moçambique and in the Feitoria of Diu. If he died without heirs, it should succeed his daughter D. Madalena Josefa de Mendonça. Francisco appoints the Bispo da Targa, Martim Correia da Silva, his uncle, Manuel Barreto de Sampaio, Francisco Correia de Lacerda and António Monteiro de Mesquita, inquisidor, as his children's tutors.

Will written by Diogo de Carvalhais before he departs to exile in Angola. He designates his wife, Ana Ribeira de Padilha, and their sons, Fernando and António de Carvalhais, as his heirs and executors. He bequeaths his eldest son, Fernando de Carvalhais, his third part and the third parts of his parents and sister, Madalena Lopes, as an entail, only if he is discharged, since he has been condemned to death. If he isn't, they shall pass to his brother, António de Carvalhais, and to his descendants, and their mother shall have their usufruct during her lifetime. He also orders his heirs to sell their houses in Guimarães and move to another city, where they shall establish a chapel with an obligation of 20 annual masses for his own soul and the souls of his other relatives. If this chapel is in Lisboa, it shall be in the cloister of the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo.

Will by which António Gomes da Mata established an entail, appointing his nephew André de Azevedo de Vasconcelos to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses in several churches in Lisboa. This entail is composed of unspecified assets.

Will by which Mem Rodrigues de Abreu and D. Constança Ribeiro express their wish to be buried in their chapel of Nossa Senhora do Rosário of the convent of S. Domingos of Elvas.
They bequeath their part of the estate of S. Domingos, which Mem Rodrigues de Abreu inherited from his father, to João Pereira de Abreu, Mem's brother, with an obligation of five annual masses for their souls. This estate shall pass to the child or grandchild of João Pereira de Abreu who inherits the entail of doutor João Pereira, which Mem Rodrigues de Abreu possessed, and to which he appoints his brother as next administrator.
They entail their landed properties with an obligation of a daily mass prayed by the priests of S. Paulo de Elvas. They appoint as first administrator of this entail Manuel Gomes Ribeiro, brother of D. Constança, if they don't have children. The successor shall be chosen by appointment among his descendants. If no appointment is made, the entail shall pass to his eldest son. If Manuel Gomes Ribeiro dies without descendants, the entail shall pass to one of his brothers or sisters.
They also make donations to the confrarias of S. Pedro de Elvas and of Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Brancos, ordering they pray weekly and annual masses for their souls. These obligations shall only have effect if they don't have children.

Will by which Pantaleão Gomes de Sousa nominated his nephew António de Sousa de Carvalho to succeed in his entail. He left him all his movable goods, a public debt instrument of 200 000 réis in Almoxarifado das Sizas in Santarém, houses and a farm located in Charneca in order to be incorporated into this chapel. The administrator was due to order the celebration of masses in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Anunciada and it should succeed in this obligation his eldest son. He left some legacies to his daughter, a nun, and to another closest kin and institutions.

Will by which Isabel Mendes established this entail using her third and designating her husband Diogo Fernandes de Elvas to be its first administrator if she died first. She wanted to be buried in the Chapel of Santíssimo Sacramento, in the Church of Nossa Senhora da Conceição, where it was placed their family grave. She wanted to follow all the entail conditions already explained in her husband's last will. She nominated her husband Diogo Fernandes de Elvas and her son-in-law Rui de Sousa da Veiga to be her last will executors. Followed by an approval deed dated 1636-05-05.

Violante Godinho, widow of the desembargador Custódio de Figueiredo Cardoso, juiz dos Feitos da Coroa e Fazenda do Rei in Lisboa, expresses her wish to be buried in the chapel she established in the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, next to her husband. She designates her nephew, Francisco Dias Lopes Cardim, married to her niece, D. Margarida Toja, as first administrator of her entail, and his descendants afterwards. She also appoints him as heir of the chapel established by her uncle, licenciado Gaspar Godinho, prior of the church of S. Julião, which she had inherited from him.
She bequeaths a lease and farmlands in Évora to her cousin, Francisca Godinho Mendes, and, after her death, to her cousin's son, Baltasar Godinho Cardim, vigário-geral nas ilhas, and to his heirs, with an obligation of three annual masses in her chapel.
She bequeaths an olive grove in Portel to her other nephew, Belchior Cardim, priest in the monastery of Portel, which shall, after his death, pass to his brother, Francisco Dias Lopes Cardim, with the obligation of giving a jug of olive oil every year to the convent of Portel to light the lamp of the Holy Sacrament, and of praying two masses to Nossa Senhora do Socorro.
She also bequeaths her estate of Soalheira, in Portel, and other farmlands in the same place to her cousin, Gaspar Tojo Gato, and his wife, Maria de Reboredo, with an obligation of three annual masses for her soul in the altar of Nossa Senhora da Conceição of the church of Espírito Santo of Portel, to be fulfilled by them and their descendants.
Finally, she bequeaths houses in Lisboa to padre frei Martinho Moniz, which, after his death, shall be given to her nephew, Baltasar Godinho Cardim, and to his descendants, with an obligation of three annual masses for her soul. If he doesn't have any successors, the houses shall be annexed to her chapel.

Will of Salvador Mendes and Maria Pais/Pires, establishing a chapel in the Church of Santa Maria Madalena in Monforte, with the obligation of a daily requiem mass, along with other masses on the main religious festivities of the year. The masses would be celebrated for the benefit of the souls of the testators, their parents and all those who had done good deeds and belonged to their lineage. A clergyman of the family was to be chosen as chaplain. The couple appointed their son, Estêvão Salvador, as administrator, followed by the closest and most honourable relative. Women and clerics were excluded from the administration.

Will by which Diogo Luís de Oliveira, husband of D. Leonor de Távora, expresses his wish to be buried in the monastery of Nossa Senhora dos Anjos da Arrábida, of which his nephew, Luís Francisco de Oliveira, morgado de Oliveira, is the patron, with the obligation of a daily mass for his soul. He entails all of his properties, which include public debt instruments, houses in Belém, and the revenue he intends to gain from debts owed to him, and appoints his wife as his universal heir. After her death, the entail shall pass to the padre António Luís de Oliveira, natural son of Diogo Luís de Oliveira and afterwards to Luís Francisco de Oliveira and his successors. This entail shall always be in the hands of the administrators of the entail of Oliveira. If their lineage is extinguished, the entail shall pass to the lineage of Diogo's niece, D. Beatriz. If her lineage is also extinguished, it shall pass to a second son of the house of Mogadouro. If all of these lineages are extinguished it shall be given to the Misericórdia of Lisboa. Will by which Gaspar Pacheco established an entail with the third part of his assets, which was composed of houses in S. Paulo, Lisboa, houses in Sassoeiros, Cascais, lands in Santiago dos Velhos, a farmstead (quinta) in Algés, houses in Boavista, houses in Rua dos Esteiros, houses in Beco do Jardim and in Rua da Tanoaria, rents (foros) in Porto, a rent (foro) in Sintra, a public debt instrument of 1 000 cruzados in Almoxarifado de Torres Novas and a property (engenho) in Pernambuco. He designated his son, António Rodrigues Pacheco, to administrate it, obligating him and his descendants to support the celebration of 2 perpetual daily masses in the chapel, devoted to Nossa Senhora das Angústias, founded by the institutor in the monastery of S. Bento of Lisboa. As long as Frei Jacinto Pacheco was alive, he would be responsible for celebrating them. Each year, the administrators had to give 75 000 réis to the monastery to provide for the maintenance of the chapel and to pay for the masses. The institutor had already ordered the painting of an altarpiece.

Will by which António Pinto Nogueira de Figueiroa and Francisca Lopes de Seixas, his wife, established an entail with houses in Calçada de S. Francisco and in Rua do Selvagem, a store in Rua dos Ourives do Ouro, Lisboa, and lands (casal) in Ribas de Baixo, Fanhões, determining that its future administrators had to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for their souls in the church of Nossa Senhora dos Mártires and to give, each year, 5 000 réis to the brotherhood of Santíssimo Sacramento of that church. After the death of both of them, the entail would be transmitted to António Pinto Nogueira de Figueiroa's son, if he remarried and left descendants, or, if that did not happen, to his brother, Sebastião Pinto, who would pass it to his successors. The institutors declared that their bodies had to be buried in that church.

Will by which Francisco Mendes, Arcediago de Celorico, Cónego da Sé da Guarda, and his sister, Isabel Pais de Barros, established a chapel and an entail, incorporating in it the farmstead (quinta) of Molelinhos, rents (foros) and other properties in Molelos, houses in Guarda and their silver tableware. They appointed Cristóvão Mendes de Eça, their nephew, to administrate it, declaring that the entail would be transmitted to one of his sons. The future administrators were obligated to support the celebration of 80 annual masses for the institutors' souls in the church of Molelos or in the church of Molelinhos.

Will by which António Gomes da Mata established an entail, appointing his nephew Luis Gomes da Mata to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses and to light a candle in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça and other churches In Lisboa. The founder also appointed his nephew Duarte Gomes da Mata heir of the alodial assets and some of the entailed assets until his death. This chapel has the right to nominate a priest to celebrate the masses. This entail is composed of several assets belonging to the entails of Luís Gomes da Mata's, Pedro António da Mata and Duarte Reimão da Mata; jewelry, silver pieces and a public debt instrument of 70 000 réis in Câmara de Lisboa.

Will by which Francisco Nunes de Ávila, sacerdote, declared that he had bought the chapel of Jesus of the church of Nossa Senhora dos Mártires as it was requested by Diogo Cirne, the institutor of the entail he administrated. He had entailed to it a public debt instrument of 88 000 réis and lands (casal) in Monte do Coche, Almada. The testator determined that, after his death, Ana da Costa, his niece, would inherit the entail and pass it to her eldest son.
He also ordered that the entail established by his aunt, D. Maria Henriques, composed of a farmstead (quinta) in Pragal, which he had inherited, had to be administrated by the son of Ana Costa responsible for administrating Diogo Cirne's entail. The entail would be subsequently transmitted to one of his descendants.

Will made by Francisco Martins and his wife Francisca de Castro, in which they ordered, among other dispositions, the foundation of an entail with a perpetual obligation of one mass celebrated every week in the church of S. Sebastião, in Ponta Delgada, where their bodied should be buried, his on his parents grave and hers on the grave made by their son Baltasar Martins near the chapel of N. Sra. do Rosário. They named their son Baltasar Martins de Castro as first administrator of the entail and before his death he would appoint, preferably, one of his male heirs to succeed him with the same condition. If the bloodline was extinguished, the administration should be given to the closest lay relative.

Will by which Jorge de Albuquerque, do Conselho Ultramarino, cavaleiro professo da Ordem de Cristo, son of Fernando de Albuquerque, governador do Estado da Índia, expresses his wish to be buried in the chapel he and his second wife, D. Ana de Noronha, bought in the antechorus of the church of the monastery of Santíssima Trindade of Lisboa.
He designates his only grandson, D. António da Silveira de Albuquerque, son of his deceased daughter, Beatriz de Albuquerque, and of Jerónimo da Silveira, as his universal heir. He bequeaths him all of his properties in Lisboa, Paio Pires and Torres Vedras as an entail. This entail shall be joined to and have the same clauses of succession as the entail of Afonso Mexia, established in 1550-10-03, which António da Silveira de Albuquerque had inherited from his grandmother, Beatriz Mexia. The administrator shall take a part of his entail's properties to order a daily mass for his soul in the monastery of Santíssima Trindade, rescue captives, marry orphans and establish two mercieiros in his chapel. His wife, D. Ana de Noronha, shall have the usufruct of a third part of the properties of the entail during her lifetime. If his grandson refuses these conditions, or dies without succession, the administration of the entail shall pass to the priests of Santíssima Trindade, who shall appoint a layman as the next administrator.
Jorge Albuquerque appoints his grandson as administrator of the chapel of his grandparents in the mother church of Beja. He also orders that the obligation of masses for the soul of his father, Fernando de Albuquerque, should continue to be prayed in the church of Nossa Senhora da Serra of Goa. This obligation was entailed to an orchard in that city, which he had received as a dowry upon his marriage to his first wife, Isabel de Sousa, and had given to his daughter, Beatriz de Albuquerque, at the time of her own marriage.

Will of António Gomes Angel by which he established two entails with the third part of his assets, leaving them to his daughters, D. Maria and D. Graça. He asked the executors of the will to guarantee that both of them married according with their status, as soon as possible. The testator determined that his body had to be buried in the church of S. Cristóvão of Lisboa.

Will of Manuel Francisco Cavaco and Maria de Brito, his wife, ordering their grave in their chapel of Nossa Senhora da Assunção, in the convent of Santo António of Figueira da Foz. They appoint whichever of them survives as their first administrator. After their deaths, the half of Manuel Francisco was to go to Francisco Fernandes, the young, son of Francisco Fernandes, his brother, and to Maria Rodrigues, his sister. Maria de Brito's half should go to André de Brito, her cousin, and Maria de Brito, her niece, daughter of Francisca de Brito, her sister. Administrators were then to appoint their male children to succeed them in administration.

Will of Francisco Freire and his wife Maria de Sá de Herédia. The couple reserved their "terças" to establish an entail with a chapel in the convent of São Francisco de Vila do Conde. Their son, Luís Freire de Sá, would be the first administrator. If he had no descendants, the succession would pass to the children of Margarida Ferreira and Manuel Barbosa de Sá. Ideally, the administration would pass to the first-born son, excluding clerics. The institutors stated that the successor should be the closest relative, as long as is someone related by blood. If there were no relatives, then the administration of the entail was to be passed on to the Misericórdia.

Will of Maria Pereira, single woman and daughter of Sebastião Pereira and Francisca Novais. Maria orders her body to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco in Porto. She entails the estates she possesses in Cerrais, Terras de Basto, Guimarães and Feira, with the obligation of supporting a weekly mass to be celebrated in the closest altar to her grave. As first administrator, the testator appointed her cousin Luís Novais, son of Vicente Novais and Branca da Silva, to be succeeded by his first-born son or daughter, in the absence of a male heir, and excluding clerics and illegitimate children from the administration. If Luís Novais died without descent, the entail was to pass to the person who administered the entail of Vicente Novais and Branca da Silva, uncles of the testator and parents of Luís Novais. Maria also left instructions regarding her illegitimate sister, Beatriz Pereira, ordering that she enter a convent and that the necessary payments be made from Maria Pereira's inheritance.

Will of Tomé da Rocha, founding a chapel in the convent of São Francisco of Porto and appointing his sister, Antónia da Rocha, as administrator. After her death it shall pass to their niece, Jerónima da Rocha, daughter of their sister Graça da Rocha. If she dies without heirs, it will pass to their other niece, Luísa da Rocha, daughter of their sister Helena da Rocha. If his lineage is extinguished it will pass to the Misericórdia of Porto.

They instituted an entail, on the Quinta de Caria, entailing the assets of their third parts to fulfill the charges, celebrated in the Cathedral of Viseu. They appoints the surviving one of them as first administrator, and after their death Simeão, their youngest son. If he died, the entail would pass to Manuel Coelho, their second son, and only if he could not administer him, to João Pais, their first-born.

Will of Rui Mendes Mesquita, in which he declares that his body should be buried in the church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira, in Guimarães. Together with his wife Margarida, they reserved their "terças" for the establishment of a "morgado", which would be attached to the chapel where Rui's father, Fernando Mesquita, was buried, also in the church of Nossa Senhora da Oliveira. They appointed their son, Fernando Mesquita, as the first administrator, stating that he would be obliged to entail his share of his parents' inheritance. He was to be succeeded by his first-born son. Clerics, illegitimate children and those who had committed lese-majeste crimes were excluded from the administration. Successors were also compelled to use the family name, to marry and to entail more property.

Will of António de Videira Tavares founding an entail in Arronches with the perpetual pious obligation of a daily mass and another sung mass in the day of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe, both celebrated in the chapel he founded in Misericórdia of Arronches. The testator appoints as first successor in his entail his wife, Beatriz Loba, who will be succeeded by her niece, D. Beatriz Loba.

The institutor named his nephew licenciado Fernando Aires de Almeida as first administrator during his lifetime and, after his death, the succession should continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. All administrators would be obliged to spend 2.000 réis in masses in every year for the institutor's soul in nine specific days. He also disposed that the eldest son of all administrators would be obliged to obtain an academic degree in a course of his own choice, and if the eldest heir did not wished to, or shown no habilities for this purpose, the second born son should fulfill this obligation. This entail is composed of lands, houses, olive groves and vineyards in Portalegre and its outskirts.

She lists which properties are hers, and which belong to the entail of her husband, António Ribeiro de Barros. She appoints her second-cousin, Aires de Saldanha de Sousa, as her universal heir, bequeathing him her entail and the chapel of Nossa Senhora de Jesus in the convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça of Lisboa, of which she was the administrator. He can appoint the next administrator among his descendants. If he dies without successors, the entail shall pass to Francisca's other cousin, Aires de Sousa de Castro, in the same way. She expresses her wish to be buried in her chapel of Jesus while the convent of Carmelitas she and her husband wish to establish isn't built.

He declares he traded properties with his nephew, Gaspar de Sequeira de Meneses, to establish an entail and chapel. He entails his properties with the obligation of 10 annual masses over his tomb, in which he includes leases in Pera Boa, houses and orchards, and bequeaths them to his nephew. If he dies without heirs, the entail will pass to his brother, prior Manuel de Calvos de Meneses, and afterwards to their closest relative.

Will by which Francisca Coronel established an entail, designating her grandson Francisco de Sá de Meneses to be its first administrator. She wanted to be buried in the Church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, in the grave of her husband's family, and wanted to be transferred afterwards to the Monastery of Campolide, founded by her uncle Manuel Gomes de Elvas, when it was finished. She did not found a chapel with pious obligations. She also mentioned that her first grandson succeeded in the entail of her father-in-law Carlos Nunes and that of her husband Luís Gomes Nunes, and for that reason she chose Francisco de Sá de Meneses to succeed in her entail. He should incorporate his "legítima" and all the successors of this entail should also incorporate the third part of their third. This entail is composed of a "casal" called "Murganhal", near to the river of Barcarena, on the outskirts of Lisboa; houses in the "Calçada do Paio de Novais"; and a public debt instrument of 20 000 réis in Elvas.

She designates her nephew, Francisco Dias Lopes Cardim, married to her niece, D. Margarida Toja, as first administrator of her entail, and his descendants afterwards. She also appoints him as heir of the chapel established by her uncle, licenciado Gaspar Godinho, prior of the church of S. Julião, which she had inherited from him.
She bequeaths a lease and farmlands in Évora to her cousin, Francisca Godinho Mendes, and, after her death, to her cousin's son, Baltasar Godinho Cardim, vigário-geral nas ilhas, and to his heirs, with an obligation of three annual masses in her chapel.
She bequeaths an olive grove in Portel to her other nephew, Belchior Cardim, priest in the monastery of Portel, which shall, after his death, pass to his brother, Francisco Dias Lopes Cardim, with the obligation of giving a jug of olive oil every year to the convent of Portel to light the lamp of the Holy Sacrament, and of praying two masses to Nossa Senhora do Socorro.
She also bequeaths her estate of Soalheira, in Portel, and other farmlands in the same place to her cousin, Gaspar Tojo Gato, and his wife, Maria de Reboredo, with an obligation of three annual masses for her soul in the altar of Nossa Senhora da Conceição of the church of Espírito Santo of Portel, to be fulfilled by them and their descendants.

She designated her nephew, Diogo Dias, Cavaleiro da Casa do Rei, to become its first administrator, determining that him and his descendants had to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for her soul and the souls of her relatives in the chapel of Santa Maria of the church of S. João da Praça of that city, where her body would be buried. After the death of Diogo Dias, the entail would be inherited by his eldest son. If his lineage became extinct, the priests of S. João da Praça had to elect someone to be the entail's administrator.

He declares that he had previously made an agreement with its prior and friars, by which he promised to give them a public debt instrument of 24 000 réis in exchange for the celebration of annual masses for his soul and that of his wife. Nevertheless, it was still necessary to make a contract with the convent, which he urges his heirs to do. He appoints his wife, Inês Lopes, as the entail's first administrator, bequeathing her part of his assets which should be incorporated in it. He obligates her and her descendants to give, each year, 4 000 réis to that convent in order to assure the chapel's maintenance; to check the state of its ornaments; to donate 10 000 réis to the convent of S. Domingos and S. Francisco of Lisboa, each Holy Thursday. The testator allows his wife to choose one of her nephews or nieces to be her successor, as long as he/she resides in Lisboa. He demands his remains to be buried inside his chapel.

As Simão is a minor, he shall live in the house of one of his executors, be educated by them and be married to a noble woman. If Simão doesn't have heirs, or dies, the administration of his properties shall be given to Diogo Rodrigues de Lisboa one of the executors, if he is still alive, but only during his lifetime. After Diogo's death, two thirds of those properties shall be given to Guiomar de Miranda, sister of the institutor, or to her descendants, and another third shall be given to one of Manuel's nieces, daughter of Catarina de Miranda, another of his sisters who is already deceased. If neither of them survived, or had descendants, both of the entails would be inherited by Gaspar de Figueira, the testator's nephew. He instituted pious obligations of celebrating annual masses in the chapel of Jesus, in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa, and in his chapel, in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Évora. He chooses to be temporarily buried in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. After his flesh disappeared, his bones should be transferred to the grave he had inside his chapel, in the convent of S. Domingos of Évora.

The second one had an obligation of annual masses in the convent of Capuchos, in Castelo de Vide, and was to be administered by Roque Nunes Barradas, the institutor's brother-in-law, who should be succeeded by his wife, Violante Brandão, sister of the institutor, and by their eldest son. The third one would also have an obligation of masses in Castelo de Vide and would be administered by Violante Brandão, and afterwards by one of her sons or daughter, who would be chosen by appointment.

Will chart by which D. Afonso de Castelo Branco, Meirinho-mor do Reino, and his wife, D. Isabel de Castro, established an entail with the third part of their assets, which included houses in Évora, determining that it should be annexed to the entail instituted by D. Guiomar de Noronha ("morgado de Montalvo") and administrated by their eldest son. Therefore, it would be transmitted according to the clauses of its foundation deed. However, if they were unable of bearing a son, their entail would not be attached to the one founded by Guiomar de Noronha. Instead it would be administrated by the institutor's eldest daughter, D. Maria de Castro, and her husband, D. Garcia de Meneses, and transmitted to their descendants. They also incorporated a tapestry in their entail and a rent (foro) of wheat taken from a property in Serpa to Guiomar de Noronha's entail, which they administrated. Will chart of Pedro Eanes do Canto founding, among other dispositions, two entails, one for his son António Pires, born of his first marriage with Joana da Barca, and the other for his son João da Silva, born of his second marriage with Violante da Silva. For the first entail he entailed several properties in the islands of São Jorge, Pico and Faial, and a estate named Quinta de São Pedro, with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass in the church of N. Sra. de Nazaré built on the same state, where a monument in his homenage should be built declaring that he participated on the battles of Arzila, Azamor, Afnul, Benegisna, in Persia and Almedina. For the second entail he entailed several properties in Terceira island, in Cabo da Praia, mount Brasil and a state in Lajes, also with a perpetual mass obligation with a weekly mass preached on the chapel of Jesus, that he was building in the main church of Angra. Both the entails had identical obligations, and António Pires should choose which one he would have, and João da Silva should have the other one. Both should be succeeded by their eldest sons, preferably male, and each administrator should annex 2/3 of his own reserved portion (terça) to the entail. The administrators should also use the surname "do Canto" or lose the administration. He also appoints Francisco da Silva, his illegitimate son, to succeed him on the administration of the chapel founded by Vasco Afonso, vicar of Machico, island of Madeira.

They now entail those properties as a chapel and appoint Maria Tomé, as the first administrator. A daughter was to succeed her, with females taking precedence in administration.
They institute another entail with properties located in the outskirts of Prado which shall be used to purchase olive oil and wax for the Santíssimo Sacramento of the convent of São Francisco of Azurara. They appoint Maria Carneiro as the first administrator, to be succeeded by her daughter, Ana.
They also institute a chapel dedicated to Nossa Senhora, on the altar of Piedade in the Convent of São Francisco de Azurara, and appoint Justa as the first administrator, to be succeded by one of her children.

Domingos of Évora. He chooses to be temporarily buried in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. She determined that its revenues would support the celebration of 2 annual masses in the church where her body would be buried, which would be chosen by her husband. The testator appointed her son, Pantaleão Carneiro, to administrate it, obligating him to give 2 annual pensions of 2 500 réis to his sisters, nuns in the convent of Santa Clara, during their lifetime. If Pantaleão decided to become a priest or died without leaving offspring, the entail would be transmitted to his brother, Fernando Valadares.

Will chart of Pedro Eanes do Canto founding, among other dispositions, two entails, one for his son António Pires, born of his first marriage with Joana da Barca, and the other for his son João da Silva, born of his second marriage with Violante da Silva. For the first entail he entailed several properties in the islands of São Jorge, Pico and Faial, and a estate named Quinta de São Pedro, with a perpetual mass obligation of a weekly mass in the church of N. Sra. de Nazaré built on the same state, where a monument in his homenage should be built declaring that he participated on the battles of Arzila, Azamor, Afnul, Benegisna, in Persia and Almedina. For the second entail he entailed several properties in Terceira island, in Cabo da Praia, mount Brasil and a state in Lajes, also with a perpetual mass obligation with a weekly mass preached on the chapel of Jesus, that he was building in the main church of Angra. Both the entails had identical obligations, and António Pires should choose which one he would have, and João da Silva should have the other one. Both should be succeeded by their eldest sons, preferably male, and each administrator should annex 2/3 of his own reserved portion (terça) to the entail. The administrators should also use the surname "do Canto" or lose the administration. He also appoints Francisco da Silva, his illegitimate son, to succeed him on the administration of the chapel founded by Vasco Afonso, vicar of Machico, island of Madeira.

He designated his illegitimate son, João Bocle/ João Boche, husband of Maria Luís, to administrate it, obligating him to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass in the church of Nossa Senhora do Loreto. The institutor ordered the making of 4 tombos containing copies of the entail's institution and other deeds, 3 of which would be delivered to the Hospital de Todos-os-Santos, the referred church and the Juízo dos Resíduos. The testator declared that he had made a will with his late wife, Graça Teixeira, in which they had demanded the celebration of a perpetual daily mass for their souls in Nossa Senhora do Loreto, where he had erected a chapel. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1560-10-28 and an opening deed issued on 1561-03-13.
