Scope and content
Contract and bond deed signed between the friars of the convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, António Ribeiro de Barros, Fidalgo da Casa do Rei, and Aires de Saldanha de Sousa, respectively the widower and the heir of Francisca Borges de Meneses. They substituted houses in Graça, Lisboa, which were entailed to the chapel established by Manuel de Almeida and Beatriz Pinheiro, for a farmstead ("quinta da Páscoa") in Belas and a rent of wheat and barley taken from a property in Salvaterra de Magos ("casal de Albufeira"). Aires de Saldanha de Sousa committed himself to fulfil the chapel's pious obligations, since he succeeded his late cousin, Francisca Borges de Meneses, in the entail's administration. The friars of the convent accepted the terms of the contract and allowed Aires de Saldanha de Sousa to take possession of the chapel.
Contains a copy of a certificate, issued on 1636-10-11, of a contract and bond deed written in 1566-04-24 and a certificate, issued on 1636-10-11, containing extracts of a partition deed of 1578. Followed by a licence issued on 1665-10-16.
