Contract and bond deed made between the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa, represented by Frei Manuel dos Reis, and Catarina Ferreira and her mother Antónia Ferreira, António de Azevedo’s widow. Catarina Ferreira and her mother agree to the conditions stipulated in Ricarda Antunes’ will. The testator had bequeathed her niece Catarina her share in some houses located in Lisboa, which she had perpetually rented from the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa, requiring the fulfilment of pious charges. Ricarda Antunes also left to her niece the third part of her father Fernando Eanes’ assets, consisting of a share of houses in the same location. Catarina was to own the houses in their entirety and entailed to Ricarda’s chapel. Thus, Antónia Ferreira renounces her inheritance from her late son Francisco Manuel da Costa in favour of her daughter Catarina, so that she could own the houses as a whole as her sister-in-law had wished. Subsequently, Catarina enters into a perpetual lease agreement with the convent for these properties, which includes all the detailed clauses, and the convent agrees to fulfil the charges established by her aunt. An extract of Ricarda Antune’s will is included, along with a reference to the approval deed (dated 1622-05-20) and to a certificate of the opening deed of will (dated 1631-07-21).
