Court sentence judging a lawsuit presented by D. Henrique Henriques and his wife, D. Maria Luísa Pereira de Meneses, against D. Inácia de Meneses and Francisco de Faria e Silva, concerning the succession of the entails established by Antão de Faria ("morgado de Palmela") and Maria de Vilhena ("morgado de Évora"). It is declared that Antão de Faria instituted an entail with houses on Portas de Alfôfa, Lisboa, to which his son, Francisco de Faria, and grandson, Antão de Faria, entailed two farmsteads ("quinta dos Olhos de Água" and "quinta do Carvalho"). The entail of Maria de Vilhena, established in 1562, was administrated by Sancho de Faria, great-grandfather of D. Maria Luísa, and subsequently by Francisco de Faria. The judges determined that D. Maria Luísa Pereira de Meneses was the rightful successor of both of the entails, being the legitimate granddaughter of Francisco de Faria and niece of Antão de Faria, Prior de Palmela, its last administrators. The defendant, D. Inácia, was obligated to give up the administration of the two entails and to cover the legal expenses.
