Composition deed

Composition deed between the monastery of São Francisco do Porto, João Rodrigues de Sá de Meneses, Alcaide-mor e Capitão do Porto, and his wife, D. Catarina de Noronha, by which the friars gave them and his descendants half of the convent's main chapel, since the other part already belonged to them. Subsquently, the couple donated 500 cruzados for the construction of an infirmary in that convent. The chapel would be from then on recognized as "Capela dos Sás e Noronhas".

Letter of possession

Letter of possession by which Doutor João de Avelar, representing João Rodrigues de Sá de Meneses, took possession of the main chapel of the convent of São Francisco of Porto, which had been donated by its friars to him and to his wife, D. Catarina de Noronha. The chapel had been previously donated to his great-grandmother, D. Filipa da Cunha. In turn, João Rodrigues de Sá e Meneses had the obligation of supporting the celebration of annual masses there, as his ancestors had done.
