Composition deed

It should be the first chapel immediately after the bars and next to the church crossing, on the side of the cloister. The chapel would have a retable in which the couple would place an image of S. Simão. Simão de Andrade, his wife and subsequent administrators of the chapel had the right to bury themselves there, on the floor or on the walls, and to place their coat of arms there. The monks had the right to use the chapel to celebrate mass, as well as a daily and perpetual mass for the souls of the institutors. In return, the couple entailed houses in Porto and cereal rents, and left 200.000 réis to the construction of the chapel.

The couple referred to the contract they had previously concluded with the monks regarding the chapel and mentioned that they had left the additional sum of 107,600 réis for the maintenance of the chapel.
