Codicil

Codicil made by Cosme Fernandes in which he ordered the foundation of an entail with a perpetual mass obligation of one mass celebrated every year. The institutor named his nephew Pedro as first administrator during his lifetime, and, after his death, the succession should always continue, preferably, on the eldest male heir. The administrator of the entail would be exempt of presenting accounts to the Provedor das Capelas.

Deed of sale in which Diogo da Silva and his wife Leonor Mendes sold an orchard worth 50.000 réis to Bento Gonçalves and his wife Maria Álvares who purchased on behalf of their minor son Pedro, administrator of the chapel founded by Cosme Fernandes, after they receive a subrogation warrant from the king allowing them to sell another orchard in Portalegre worth 30.000 as long as they replaced and entailed it for a higher value propertie. By this deed of sale the orchard sold by Diogo da Silva and Leonor Mendes became entailed to the chapel.
