Deed of sale

Geraldo Figueira and his wife Ana Garcia sell to Baltasar Pinheiro Lobo the estates they possed in Prado and in Lagea. The estates of Prado were donated by Diogo Figueira, Geraldo's father, and were entailed to the chapel instituted by Cecília da Fonseca, mother of Diogo, since Diogo also appointed Geraldo as the next administrator of the entail. The couple decided to sell these properties, in exchange of which they entailed other estates in Guimarães, next to another entailed property, the quinta da Fonte, where the couple lived. By this operation, they both transferred the payment of the 12 annual masses for the soul of the institutor to the revenues obtained by the other properties. However, since Baltasar Pinheiro Lobo was Geraldo's cousin, and since his parents were also buried in the aforementioned chapel, the properties he acquired did not ceased to have the obligation to annually deliver rents to the 'fábrica' of the chapel.

Contains exemplifications of certifications concerning the payment of the sisa (fls. 194-195).
