Will

Will made in Arronches by which Violante da Ponte Fialho, daughter of Manuel Vaz da Ponte, expresses her wish to be buried in the mother church of Arronches. She establishes an entail with a perpetual obligation of four annual masses. She named her brother Domingos Curvo as first administrator with the condition that he would afford the costs of the education of his nephew Nicolau, in order to make him a priest, but not a friar, and as soon as he was ordained, the administration would be handed to him during his lifetime. After the death of Nicolau, the administration would be handed to João da Ponte, Violante's brother and afterwards to one of his daughters. If neither João or his children had children, the administration would be handed to Inês Fialho, Violante's sister and to their other sister, Ana Zuzarte, after Inês' death. However, if Nicolau decided not to be a priest, he would have the administration, as long as he married a person with clean blood.
