Opening deed of a will

Opening deed of the will made by the deceased Maria Gibães, in which she ordered the foundation of an entail.

[includes a codicil confirming the foundation of the entail and disposing over non-entailed assets].

Will

Will by which Maria Gibães, widow of Francisco Dias Canelas, expresses her wish to be buried in the hermitage of Espírito Santo in Portalegre and establishes an entail composed of a vineyard in Carvalhal, with a perpetual obligation of four annual masses. She named her niece Leonor as first administrator during her lifetime and her descendants after her, but she would only receive the administration after she took estate, and, until then, her mother Maria Velez would administrate the entail. If Leonor died without children, the administration would be handed to one of her sisters or the closest heir of the institutor's lineage.
