Will

Will by which Pedro Gonçalves Soalheiro, lavrador, expresses his wish to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Portalegre. He named his wife, Maria Dias, as his universal heir. After her death, his remaining properties would be divided equaly between his siblings, Manuel Gonçalves and Maria Gonçalves, as two entails, with an obligation of five annual masses each. After their deaths, they would be succeeded, preferably, by their eldest male heirs. The administrators could never rip out any walnut tree of the Lixosa orchard, otherwise they would lose the administration to the next successor.
