Sale and bond deed

Sale and bond deed by which Leonardo Nardiz, capitão de infantaria, and his wife, Filipa Pereira, sell to Álvaro Pereira de Quadros, juiz dos direitos reais na vila de Sintra, heir and administrator of the entail established by Antónia Teixeira, their houses near Cruz de Pau. Álvaro Pereira de Quadros binds these houses to the entail in place of the houses Antónia Teixeira had bequeathed him, which he had sold because they were damaged.
Contains: partition deed (extract), dated 1629-01-16; certificate of Livro de Raiz, dated 1631-11-05; warrant; exemplification of a will chart; letter-of-attorney, dated 1631-11-06.
Followed by letter of possession of the houses by Álvaro Pereira de Quadros, dated 1631-11-11.

Will chart

Will chart by which Antónia Teixeira, widow of Mateus Gomes, correeiro do rei, expresses her wish to be buried in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, with her husband. She designates Álvaro Pereira and his wife, Leonor de Quadros, her niece, as her universal heirs and executors. She bequeaths them her houses in Lisboa, with the obligation of an annual mass in her burial place. After their death, the entail shall be inherited by their daughter, Antónia Pereira. If she is no longer alive and has no descendants, it will be inherited by Manuel Teixeira, Antónia Teixeira's brother.
Followed by approval deed issued in the same day.

Will (extract) by which Antónia Teixeira bequeaths her houses in Lisboa to Álvaro Pereira and his wife, and establishes a chapel with one annual mass in the church of S. Francisco de Lisboa. She states that when Álvaro Pereira dies, his daughter, Antónia Pereira, will inherit the entail or, if she is no longer alive and has no descendants, it will be inherited by Manuel Teixeira, Antónia Teixeira's brother. From then on the administration of the chapel will pass to the nearest relative in direct line.
