Diogo Pinto entail

Petition

Petition by André de Almeida, administrator of the chapel established by Diogo Pinto. He explains that Diogo Pinto established an entail with his houses in the parish of S. Nicolau, Lisboa, with the obligation of one mass in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa, bequeathing it to his son Filipe Pinto. At Filipe Pinto's death, he imposed another mass for his soul on the same entail, without authorization. Filipe Pinto's successors were, however, following Filipe's will and were currently paying two cruzados for two masses to the comissary of the chapels of the convent of S. Francisco. However, the comissary was only registering one cruzado, and praying one mass. Thus, André de Almeida asks either to pay only one cruzado for only one mass, or, if he and his successors are to continue paying two cruzados, for the two masses to be properly prayed and registered.
Followed by a dispatch ordering diligences to be made dated 1674-06-21.
