Subrogation deed

Subrogation deed by which João Simões and his wife, Ana Fonseca, subrogate the houses entailed to the chapel established by Marcos Fernandes and Maria Birrena, which were foreiras, with other houses, near the Correio-mor, Lisboa.

Simões, João (flor.1631)

Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Marcos Fernandes entails his houses in Lisboa with the obligation of 20 annual masses for the souls of his uncle, Lopo Peres, and of his first wife, Luísa Pimentel. They are to be prayed in a monastery chosen by his current wife and heir, Maria Birrena.

Fernandes, Marcos (d.1622)

Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Maria Birrenta adds ten masses to the chapel established by her husband, to be prayed in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. She bequeaths this obligation to her heir, João Simões, and asks that, after he solves the bail of the houses entailed by her husband, he buys more properties to entail to the chapel. While those houses aren't sold, he shall have the obligation of 16 masses, 6 for her husband's uncle and first wife, and ten for her and her husband's souls.

Birrena, Maria (d.1629)
