Deed of sale

Deed of sale by which Domingos Antunes and Catarina Lopes, his wife, sell houses in Lisboa to Jerónimo Duarte, violeiro, and Apolónia de Paiva, his wife, for 15 000 réis. The houses' revenues were destined to fulfil the obligation of celebrating masses for the souls of João Fernandes and Catarina Álvares, in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. Followed by a letter of possession.

Will (extract) by which João Fernandes, pedreiro, and his wife, Catarina Álvares, bequeath their houses in Lisboa to André Vaz, Catarina Fernandes' husband, João's niece, ordering him to sell them and to buy, with the sale's profit, a property in that city or in its outskirts. André was subsequently obligated to employ part of its revenues to support the celebration of masses for the soul of the institutors in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. If André died before fulfilling the testators' wishes, his eldest son should be obligated to do it.
