Bond

Bond by which the priests of the convent of S. Domingos de Benfica sell the Chapel of Jesus of their convent to D. Isabel da Silva, padre doutor Jerónimo da Silva and João de Freitas da Silva, heirs of António de Freitas da Silva, their father, and to his other executors, to establish a burial place for him and his family. They also promise to pray the obligation of two daily masses in the chapel. Contains a licence and a letter-of-attorney, both dated 1675-08-07. Followed by a letter of possession of the chapel, dated 1677-04-09.

Certificate of autos titled "Feyto da conta de testamento de Antonio de Freytas da Sylva a qual da a sua filha viuva de Manuel Pacheco de Mello" issued by António de Vargas e Miranda, escrivão da Provedoria dos Resíduos e Cativos, at the request of D. Isabel da Silva, executor of her father's will, to give to the Juízo da Provedoria das Capelas, so that the obligation of 40 masses that her brother, Frei Jerónimo da Silva, has to fulfill can be noted.
Followed by two declaration deeds about the charging of the money bequeathed in António de Freitas da Silva's will, dated 1697-11-17 and [1700]-12-02.

Will

Will by which António de Freitas da Silva expresses his wish to be buried in the convent of S. Domingos de Benfica. He bequeaths his son, Frei Jerónimo da Silva, religioso da Ordem dos Pregadores, a payment of 2 000 cruzados, during his lifetime, with the obligation of forty masses for his soul. After Frei Jerónimo's death, this money and obligation shall pass to his brother, João de Freitas da Silva, and to his descendants. If he has no descendants, it shall pass to his sister, D. Isabel da Silva (also called Joana Isabel). He establishes another obligation of two daily masses for his soul and the soul of a deceased son, António de Freitas, in his burial place.
