Declaration deed

Declaration deed made after the death of cónego Rafael Gomes by request of padre Sebastião Fernandes, stating that the institutor added and entailed nine cows, one bull, one ox and six steers to the chapel.

Donation deed

Donation deed made by cónego Rafael Gomes in which he donated two farms and twenty enslaved persons to Marina Gomes, a girl that he raised in his home, and thereby ordered the foundation of a chapel with a perpetual pious obligation of two sung masses in every year. He named his grandson Luís Fernandes da Vega to administrate this chapel until Marina married, and from there on, she and her legitimate descendants would administrate this chapel. If Marina died without children, the administration would be handled with the same conditions to Francisco, son of his niece Maria Vieira and capitão Manuel Ledo. The institutor disposed that if any of the slaves that were entailed to the chapel died or were sold out, they should be replaced in order to always maintain twenty of them serving.
