Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which José da Costa and his wife, Maria de Lemos, entail their houses in Correaria, Lisboa. They bequeath them to their daughter-in-law, Eva da Costa, married to their son, António da Costa, with an obligation of four annual masses in the chapel of Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe of the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa: two for their souls and two for the souls of Gaspar Gonçalves and Leonor Lopes, his wife. If Eva da Costa has already died, then it shall be given to her husband. If both of them die without descendants, it shall be given to the institutors' granddaughters, daughters of Luísa de Lemos.
José da Costa also bequeaths his third part to his wife, during her lifetime, and afterwards to their daughter, Ana da Costa, to whom he had given it, as part of her dowry, with an obligation of two annual masses in the chapel of Almas of the same convent of S. Francisco.
