Sale and bond deed

Sale and bond deed by which Jerónimo Franco, capelão do Rei, tesoureiro of the chapel of the archbishop of Lisboa, as executor of padre Tristão Álvares, deceased, who had been capelão of the same archbishop and quaternário of the cathedral of Lisboa, buys two houses in Lisboa from Fernando Cardoso and his wife, Ana Pais. He thus fulfills the obligation of buying 2 000 reais of censos to entail to six annual masses established in Tristão Álvares's will. He gives these houses to Catarina Mendes, niece and heir of the institutor, wife of Domingos da Silva, who accepts them and promises, in her name and the name of her successors, to fulfill the obligations established in her uncle's will.
Contains letter of attorney dated 1578-10-06.
Followed by certificate of payment of sisa and letter of possession of the houses by Catarina Mendes, dated 1583-03-08.
