Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Graça Torres leaves to her niece, Luísa Nunes, two lands in Alpampilher, in the outskirts of Azambuja, with the obligation of a set of annual masses on specific altars and other pious charges for her soul at the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa. She adds to this chapel the masses that her husband, António Ortiz, had ordered. After Luísa Nunes death, she appoints her other niece, Feliciana Pereira, to succeed in the administration of those lands with the same obligations, declaring that they should remain in the possession of a close relative and that females should precede males. If her generation becomes extinct, the lands should be handed to the priests of the convent to ensure the pious charges.
