Will (extract) in which Violante Rodrigues orders the purchase of a property to be entailed and delivered to her sister, Isabel Mendes, and her heirs, on the condition that pious charges are fulfilled for her soul and for her parents’ souls in the church of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo de Lisboa. To fund this purchase, her will executors must retrieve the 60 000 réis she had entrusted to her cousin Baltasar Rodrigues’ son, who was outside the kingdom, and deliver it to Manuel Rodrigues Pinto. The property is to be chosen by Manuel Rodrigues, her sister Isabel Mendes and her son-in-law André Mendes.
