Contract and bond deed

Contract and bond deed between Paulo Rodrigues Correia, procurador da finta das obras da igreja de S. Nicolau, Garcia de Melo, superintendente das obras da finta e igreja de S. Nicolau, Francisco de Braga, tesoureiro da finta, Francisco Dias da Guarda, escrivão da finta, and Nuno Monteiro Bernardes by which the former sell to the latter the chapel of S. André and S. Luzia of that church for 65 000 réis. The buyer must have the chapel's altarpiece made, where there should be depicted the images of Santa Isabel and Santo Amaro, and a statue of Nossa Senhora da Caridade, its new patron saint, placed there. Nuno Monteiro Bernardes appoints his grandson, D. João de Eça, to be the chapel's first administrator. Contains copies of a license given by João Figueira, prior da igreja de S. Nicolau, allowing the acquisition; an agreement deed concerning the sale of chapels in that church; a warrant issued by D. Miguel de Castro, Arcebispo de Lisboa, and a letter of possession of that chapel.
