Contract and bond deed

Contract and bond deed by which António Gomes da Mata, fidalgo da Casa do Rei e seu Correio-mor, executor of his father, Luís Gomes da Mata, who had been Correio-mor, and his brothers, João Gomes da Mata and Duarte Reimão da Mata, in their names, the name of their mother, D. Isabel, and the name of D. Filipa, João's wife, receive the chapel of the invocation of Nossa Senhora da Graça in the convent of the same name, in Lisboa, to serve as their entail's chapel and as burial place for its founders, relatives and future administrators. They establish the daily masses ordered in the wills of Luís Gomes da Mata and of their eldest brother, Pedro António da Mata, and promise to give the priests of the convent a public debt instrument worth 140 000 réis to fulfil them.

Deed of sale by which Luís Gomes da Mata, son of João Gomes da Mata, bought a farm called "da Fonte", in Alhandra, that should be added to his grandfather Luís Gomes da Mata’s entail, that was inherited by his father João Gomes da Mata.

Will by which Luís Gomes da Mata established an entail, appointing his eldest son Pedro António da Mata as its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses in the Convent of Nossa Senhora da Graça, in Lisboa. The administrator and his brother António Gomes da Mata are obligated to found an entail and to establish its succession conditions. This entail is composed of houses located in Lisboa, the office of Correio-Mor and other assets belonging to their third part of the inheritance. Their successors are obligated to add their third part of the inheritance (terça) to this entail.

Will (extract) by which João Gomes da Mata, Luís Gomes da Mata's son, added one third of the inheritance to Luís Gomes da Mata's entail. João Gomes da Mata also established his own entail using two thirds of his third part of the inheritance.
