Will chart

Will chart by which Maria Luís, António da Fonseca Pestana's wife, bequeaths houses in S. Miguel de Alfama, which her first husband, Bernardo de Abreu, had left her with the obligation of celebrating annual masses for his soul in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa, to Serafina de Abreu, his niece.
She also bequeaths houses in Rua dos Cabides to her husband, asking him to give them to Violante da Fonseca, his daughter, at the time of her marriage, on the condition that she and its future owners would support the celebration of annual masses in that convent. Those houses could be sold. Nevertheless, the testator declares that, if Violante da Fonseca dies childless, the entailed houses should be inherited by the eldest male relative of the former.
She declares that her body must be buried in that convent, inside the grave where lies her first husband. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1599-09-11 and an opening deed issued on 1601-07-12.

Luís, Maria (d.1601)
