Carta testemunhável

Carta testemunhável of the will chart of Francisca Camelo Carneiro issued at the request of her executors to keep in the archive of the Monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa.

Camelo, Ana (flor.1591)

Will chart

Will chart by which Francisca Camelo Carneiro bequeaths her properties, which include leases in Lisboa, to her sister, Ana Camelo, wife of António Ribeiro Freire, as an entail, with an obligation of 30 annual masses and divine offices in the monastery of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa. The entail shall pass to her descendants and relatives from the lineage of the Camelos. If her sister doesn't have any successors, the obligations shall be kept differently: 40 alqueires of wheat shall be given to the priests of that convent, with the same obligation of masses, whilst a moio of wheat, the leases and houses in Belém shall be given to Francisca's nephew, Miguel de Ruão, son of her sister, Margarida Carneiro, and of Jerónimo de Ruão, and to his descendants, with an obligation of five annual masses. She establishes other conditions, which shall only be fulfilled if Miguel de Ruão also dies without descendants. If her lineage, or the lineage of her relatives, is completely extinguished, her properties shall be given to the Misericórdia of Lisboa to be sold. She appoints her sister and brother-in-law as her executors.
Followed by approval deed and opening deed of the will, dated 1589-04-25.
