Composition deed

Composition deed between the priests of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Carmo of Lisboa, Rodrigo de Resende Nogueira, guardian of his father, Jorge Nogueira de Novais, and successor and administrator of the entail and chapel established by his aunt, D. Guiomar de Novais, who had been wife of Pedro Correia da Silva, the provedor dos Resíduos e Cativos and the procurador das Capelas. All parts agree that the chapel established by D. Guiomar in her will, which ought to have an obligation of two daily masses, will only have the obligation of one daily mass, 122 more and two annual ones, since the third part of the deceased wasn't enough to fulfill all the obligations of her will. They entail to these obligations two estates in Lavre and Montemor-o-Novo. They also agree that the choir of the monastery, which had been chosen as the place for the chapel by D. Guiomar's heir, Pedro Correia da Silva, and by his son, who had previously administered the chapel, would be freed, and that another burial place should be found. Rodrigo de Resende Nogueira shall administer the chapel for his father, and his descendants will inherit it afterwards.
