Will

Will by which Isabel Manuel, João Sampaio's widow, establishes a chapel in the church of Santa Maria Madalena of Lisboa, ordering her nephew, António Fernandes, to buy a property or a public debt instrument with 200 000 réis to be incorporated in the entail. Its revenues would be used to support the celebration of 2 weekly masses for the institutor's soul in that church. She designates her nephew to administrate the chapel and demands him to transmit it to his descendants. If his son, Manuel, becomes a clergyman, he would be its chaplain. The testator declares that her body shall be buried in a grave located next to the chapel of Almas. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1644-07-19 and an opening deed issued on 1646-05-08.
