Will

Will by which Vasco Fernandes, pedreiro, and Ana Alves, his wife, bequeath houses in Lumiar to Ana do Amaral, Martinho de Matos' wife, determining that her and her heirs must support the celebration of 2 annual masses, for their souls, in the church of S. João Batista of Lumiar. Those houses could never be sold or exchanged for others. Its future owners are obligated to keep them clean, covered with lime, furnished with a mattress, a bed and a blanket to give shelter to any franciscan friars passing in the area.
The testators leave a land in Telheiras, an olive grove in Ameixoeira, a black slave and their remaining movable assets to Francisco Alves or to his wife, Isabel Fernandes, with the obligation of celebrating 3 annual masses for their souls, each year, in S. João of Lumiar.
They declare that their bodies should be buried in that church.
