At the time of his death, the testator called for a notary to declare his will, answering to his questions and those formulated by a friar of the convent of Santíssima Trindade. He designated Diogo da Maia, his cousin and brother-in-law, as his universal heir and expressed the wish to institute 2 daily perpetual masses for his soul in the church of S. Julião of Lisboa.
