Termo

Termo by which António Lopes declared that he had made everything he could to buy a property with 100 000 réis to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for Luísa Cordeiro de Sousa. Since that was not possible, he entailed to the chapel the houses he owned in Alfama, to fulfil the institutor's will. He gave permission to the Juízo Eclesiástico to sell those houses if its revenues were insufficient to fulfil that pious obligation.

Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Luísa Cordeiro de Sousa asked António Lopes, ourives do ouro, to employ 850 000 réis that she lent to various persons in the acquisition of a public debt instrument of 42 500 réis. Its revenues should be used to support the celebration of a daily perpetual mass for her soul in the chapel of S. Bartolomeu dos Alemães of the church of S. Julião of Lisboa. The chapel's administrators are henceforth obligated to elect a chaplain and to present, each year, the account of administration to the Provedoria das Capelas. She designates António Lopes to administrate the entail and determines that, after his death, it must be inherited by his daughter or his wife.
