Chapel foundation deed

Chapel foundation deed by which Capitão Miguel Luís Peleja and his wife, Domingas Nunes, established a chapel in the church of S. Miguel of Alfama, entailing to it mills and houses in Lisboa. Its future administrators were obligated to sustain a chaplain, who would be responsible for celebrating a daily perpetual mass for the institutor's souls in the altar of Almas of that church. They designated their grandnephew, António Luís Peleja, to become its first chaplain and determined that his father, José Luís Peleja, would administrate it. From then on, the chapel's administrator would always be the father or grandfather of its chaplain. It is referred that the institutors had previously signed a contract with the priests of that church in 1666-03-26.

Declaration deed

Declaration deed by which Miguel Luís Peleja and Domingas Nunes, his wife, determined that the future administrators of the chapel established by them could never sell or exchange the entailed houses for others. They also decide that 25 000 réis had to be taken from the revenues of those properties, each year, and deposited somewhere in order to assure that, if the houses deteriorated, there was always enough money to repair them.
