Chapel foundation deed

Chapel foundation deed by which capitão Miguel Luís Peleja and his wife, Domingas Nunes, revoke the previous contracts they had made with the Irmandade do Espírito Santo of the hermitage of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios de Alfama, dated 1667-04-14, 1669-03-14 and 1669-10-26. They establish a daily mass for their souls in the altar of Jesus of that hermitage, to which they entail their properties, including houses in Alfama which already had other obligations of masses to the church of S. Miguel de Alfama. They designate capitão Rafael Nunes da Silveira, nephew of Domingas Nunes, as first administrator, with capacity of appointing the next one. If he doesn't appoint a successor, he shall be succeded by his bastard daughter, D. Mariana, and her descendants. If her lineage is extinguished, the entail shall pass to the Irmandade do Espírito Santo. They designate António Borges, son of Francisco Borges, as their first chaplain.
