Will (extract) by which Catarina de Freitas bequeaths the usufruct of her properties to her husband, Francisco de Avelar Velho, with the obligation that he buys 36 000 réis of interest to pay for a daily mass for her soul in the chapel of of the congregation of Jesus, Maria, José in the church of S. Roque of Lisboa, whose brotherhood shall appoint the chaplain.

Will (extract) by which Francisco de Avelar Velho entails the houses which had belonged to his deceased wife, Catarina de Freitas, and other houses he possessed to an obligation of daily masses for his and his wife's soul in the chapel of the congregation of Jesus, Maria, José of the church of S. Roque. If the brothers of the congregation don't accept them, they shall be prayed instead in the altar of Jesus of the parish church of Nossa Senhora da Assunção in Atalaia. He designates his nephew, Francisco Moreira de Carvalho, and his sons and successors, as administrators of the chapel, with the capacity of appointing its chaplain.
