Chapel foundation deed

Chapel foundation deed by which António Vaz de Parada, beneficiado da igreja matriz do Sardoal, Gil Vaz Temudo's son, established a chapel in the hermitage of Espírito Santo of Sardoal or in its main church, designating his nephew, the priest António Vaz Parada, to administrate it and to celebrate 52 annual masses for his soul. He entailed lands (tapada e olival) and rents (foros) in Telheiro to it. The institutor determined that, after his nephew's death, his son, Diogo Vaz Parada, and his successors in the administration of his entail would have the right to appoint a chaplain to celebrate the masses and to administrate the properties. António Vaz de Parada left 1 000 cruzados for the construction of the chapel.
