Codicil

Codicil by which Margarida Manso Temudo, Gil Vaz de Pina's wife, altered clauses of her previous will. She designated her husband as her universal heir and executor of her will, leaving him a farmstead in Póvoa ("quinta dos Caniços") and other properties. He and his successors were henceforth obligated to support the celebration of 10 masses, every year, for her soul in the convent of Nossa Senhora da Caridade of Sardoal. If her husband left no descendants and her assets were inherited by Santa Casa da Misericórdia, its brothers would have to celebrate 20 annual masses for her soul and for the soul of her husband in perpetuity. She declared that her body had to be buried in the Casa de Nossa Senhora, in that village. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1618-02-06.
