Contract and bond deed between D. Maria de Castro and the prior and friars of the convent of Nossa Senhora do Espinheiro, by which they gave to her the chapel of S. Jerónimo and committed themselves to celebrate a perpetual daily mass for the soul of her late husband, D. Garcia de Meneses. The chapel would become a family mausoleum. D. Maria de Castro entailed a public debt instrument of 45 000 réis to the chapel, which would be given by D. Duarte de Castelo Branco, Meirinho mor, and D. Catarina da Silva, his wife. Part of the public debt instrument's income had to be spent in the chapel's maintenance. The friars were obligated to give an account of how they managed that money to the chapel's administrator. Will by which D. Garcia de Meneses, membro do Conselho do Rei, demanded that his body should be buried in the convent of Nossa Senhora do Espinheiro of Évora, in the grave of his father. He asked his heir to build a chapel in his honour in that convent, where the mortal remains of his parents and grandparents would be buried and one or two perpetual daily masses would be celebrated for his soul. He appointed his wife, D. Maria de Castro, to execute his will, leaving her the third part of his assets. The testator ordered her to buy a public debt instrument or a rent to be entailed to that chapel. If D. Duarte, his son, was alive at the time of his death, he would be the rightful heir of the third part of his father's assets. He also designated D. Duarte or any of his sons or daughters to administrate the entail established by D. Pedro de Meneses, his uncle ("morgadio da herdade da casa branca e das casas velhas").
