Donation deed

Donation deed by which the king donates the island of São João, in the coast of Brasil, and its captaincy, to Fernando de Noronha son of Diogo de Noronha, after his father’s death, since his father hadn't received a formal donation during his lifetime. The island should always pass to his descendants.

Grace warrant

Will

Will by which Diogo de Noronha, who is embarking to Brasil, establishes the succession of his island of São João, which he inherited from his father. He declares that if his heirs die before him, it shall pass to his cousin, Duarte de Noronha, son of his uncle Lopo de Noronha. He bequeaths properties to his wife, Aldonça de Mendonça, and lists his business and debts.
