Acórdão em Relação judging the end of a reprisal imposed against the entails of Lopo Rodrigues de Évora e Veiga, Nicolau da Veiga and Bernardo da Veiga, his sons, and their income when their administrator, D. Lopo de Meneses, o Roxo, was absent in Castile and D. João IV was acclaimed as king of Portugal. It also orders the return to D. Lopo Rodrigues de Évora e Veiga, plaintiff (suplicante) and administrator of the three entails, of the entailed assets and public debt instruments, with their income generated since the peace publication.

Court sentence absolving D. Isabel Henriques, defendant, from the request of D. Lopo Rodrigues de Évora e Veiga, plaintiff and administrator of the entail of Nicolau Veiga, to return him some houses, in Lisbon, which he claims that belong to the entail. It was proven that the houses were bought by Padre Nicolau da Veiga Ximenes, executor of Nicolau Veiga, with his own money and not with the institutor’s money.

Sentence

Sentence by which the wills of Nicolau da Veiga and his brother, Belchior da Veiga, are considered fulfilled. The properties belonging to both of them, as well as the properties acquired by their executors, are considered entailed to the entail established by Nicolau da Veiga. The administrator of the chapel is ordered to send ornaments in order that the masses can be prayed. Payments are established for the institutor's children and siblings.

Will (extract) by which Nicolau da Veiga entails his properties and those of his deceased brother, Belchior da Veiga, with an obligation of one daily mass in the convent of Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, Lisboa, in the chapel where he and his successors shall be buried. These properties shall be given to the priests of the convent, or to whomever his executors choose.
Followed by two declarations of assets presented by the executors of the deceased, dated 1647-03-15 and 1648-09-10.
