Composition deed

Composition deed between Gil Martins do Poço, Contador do Rei, and Clara Pires, mother of his children, by which the former agrees to marry the latter, after 20 years of living together, and to legitimate their 4 children. He donates half of his assets to his wife with the purpose of providing means for her to support herself and their children. In return, Clara Pires donates half of her farmstead (quinta) of Palma to her husband, which should be incorporated in an entail to be inherited by one of their children.

Will chart

Will chart by which Gil Martins do Poço, Contador do Rei, bequeaths his farmstead (quinta) of Palma to his son, Martinho do Poço, obligating him and his successors to support the celebration of annual masses for his soul and the souls of his ancestors in the church of Santa Justa of Lisboa and in the church of the convent of S. Domingos of that city. He declares that his body should be interred in the grave where is father, Martinho do Poço, is buried, inside the church of Santa Justa. Followed by an approval deed issued on 1450-09-03.
