Codicil

Codicil of the will chart of Clara Carreira, by which she establishes an annual mass for her soul in the convent of S. Francisco of Lisboa. She entails to it the casais in Sintra that she had bequeathed to her brother, João Carreira, in her will chart. The entail shall then be bequeathed to his successors. Followed by an aproval deed dated from the same day.

Will chart

Will chart by which Catarina Eanes Carreiro, widow of Álvaro do Casal, demands to be buried in the church of Santa Justa, where her husband is also buried. She establishes a chapel of two annual masses in that church, and another one in the church of the convent of São Francisco, where her parents and children are buried, to which she entails her houses in Lisboa, near the pillory, and her part of the herdade do Pinheiro, in Alverca, which she inherited from João Afonso and Leonor Gonçalves do Vale, ama of the king. She also mentions another mass in the church of Nossa Senhora da Graça. She appoints André Vaz, cavaleiro da Casa do Rei, and his wife, Clara Carreiro, Catarina's niece, and their successors afterwards, as her universal heirs and administrators of her chapel. Followed by approval deed, dated from the same day, and of the opening deed, dated 1494-03-02.

She appoints her husband as the universal heir and her brother, João Carreira, as the heir to the properties she inherited from her aunt, Catarina Eanes Carreira, entailed to her chapel, and also bequeaths him two casais in Sintra.

Followed by an aproval deed dated 1520-11-07.
