Certificate

Certificate issued by António Correia da Silva, escrivão da Provedoria das Capelas de Lisboa, containing an extract of a registry book of the pious obligations fulfilled in the church of S. João Batista of Lumiar. It indicated that a mass was celebrated, every year, for the souls of João Preto and Isabel Eanes, which was supported by a rent (foro) extracted from a vineyard in Torre do Fato. It had been paid till 1650 by the heir of António Rodrigues de Figueiredo, escrivão do Paço.

Donation deed

Donation deed by which João Preto and his wife, Isabel Eanes, donated an annual rent of 150 réis and a chicken to the church of S. João Batista of Lumiar with the purpose of supporting the celebration of a mass, each year, for their souls and the souls of their deceased relatives in the chapel of S. Vicente. That rent would be extracted from a vineyard in Torre do Fato, Lisboa. After their deaths, it would be inherited by Fernando Eanes, their son. He and his descendants were henceforth obligated to fulfil that obligation.
Inês Martins, Vasco Vicente's widow and João Preto's sister-in-law, declared that, after her death, a vineyard she owned in that place would be transmitted to her daughter, Catarina Vaz. She determined that the latter and her descendants had to pay a rent, each year, of 150 réis and a chicken to that church in order to support the celebration of an annual mass in that chapel.
