Subrogation warrant

Subrogation warrant on behalf of Francisco de Castro, administrator of the entail founded by D. Maria de Castro, with mass obligations in the monastery of Santa Maria of Cárquere, district of Resende, allowing him to sell and subrogate some entailed pensions, rents and lease portions that were charged in Cadarssaes, distritc of Sabugal. He had several dificulties in collect those pensions, not only in cause of the distance of 24 leagues, but also for the resistance posed by his tenants, referred as rustic and indomitable people, used to answer the collections with turmoils. Besides, as those lands were near to the frontier with Spain, they could be easily lost in occasions of war, what could result in clear losses to the entail. He reached an agreement with the tenants in order to sell them the lands for 7.000 cruzados, purchasing other properties to be entailed with the money that would result from the sale.
