Certificate

Certificate by which the priest Bento Soares de Sousa declared that it were celebrated in the Church of São Jorge twenty-four masses for the institutors' soul, and that it was missing the payment of two years of masses from the rents of the farm of "Calvana", on the outskirts of Lisboa.

Entail foundation deed

Entail foundation deed by which the Doutor João do Rego, lente da cadeira de medicina in Lisboa, and his wife Catarina Mendes Lobo established an entail, designating their son Jorge do Rego to be its first administrator. He was due to order the celebration of masses in the Church of São Jorge and pay for a chaplain, giving him a "moio de pão", a quarter of wine and three jars of oil. This entail should be succeeded by their eldest son and, after his death, by their grandson, but if he died childless it should succeed their second son. The administrators were also obligated to incorporate their thirds into this entail. Its properties are composed of houses, "casais" and vineyards in Porto and its outskirts, houses and a farm in Lisboa and its outskirts, a "praia" and lands in Almada, houses and olive groves in Odivelas, a farm in Telheiras with its lands, vineyards, trees and olive groves, and a "herdade" in Vila Viçosa.

Sentence

Sentence by which it was declared that it was missing the payment of two years of masses in the Church of São Jorge, but that this pious charges were not obligated to the farm of "Calvana" as was mentioned in the certificate, but to the other assets incorporated into this entail.
