Administration warrant

Administration warrant of the entail established by Diogo da Costa Cabral to Capitão António de Carvalho. He had presented a petition stating that, after the death of D. Maria de Carvalho, Simão Leitão de Meireles' widow, Luis Leitão de Meireles had wrongfully taken possession of that entail, without being a relative of the institutor. António de Carvalho had denounced the entail's vacancy, asking to be appointed administrator of it.

Apostille on public debt instrument

Apostille on public debt instrument of 40 000 réis on behalf of António de Abreu, successor of Maria de Carvalho, Simão Leitão de Meireles' wife, in the chapel founded by Diogo da Costa Cabral in the convent of S. Domingos of Lisboa. It is mentioned that, before the issue of this document, other apostille was granted to Luís Leitão de Meireles, since he initially declared himself Maria de Carvalho's heir, upon her death. There followed a lawsuit between António de Abreu and Luís Leitão de Meireles concerning the entail's succession, which the former won.

He ordered that those houses ought to be duly measured, and that the chapel's administration account should be taken.

Termo de declaração

Termo de declaração by which João Cerqueira de Barros, on behalf of Pedro Vaz Soares, administrator of Diogo da Costa Cabral's entail, and at the request of Doutor António dos Santos de Oliveira, Provedor dos Resíduos, declared that the only assets incorporated in that entail were a public debt instrument of 50 000 réis and houses located in Rua dos Ourives, in Lisboa.

Will (extract)

Will (extract) by which Diogo da Costa Cabral founded an entail, incorporating in it a public debt instrument of 50 000 réis and leaving to his successors the decision about which one of other two assets, a public debt instrument of 20 500 réis, or houses that he owned in Lisboa, should also be entailed. The remaining asset had to be sold. He instituted the pious obligation of a daily mass celebrated in the chapel of Santiago, which was supposed to be erected by his successors. He appointed Fernando Dias da Palma and Beatriz, his sister, as his will's executors and first administrators of the said entail. He ordered that Beatriz should appoint the entail's next administrator, with the condition that she chose someone within their family.
