Consent deed

Lemos, Catarina de (d.1575)

Entail foundation deed

Entail foundation deed by which Diogo Marmeleiro and Catarina de Lemos, his wife, found an entail in the chapel of Jesus of the church of Santa Justa of Coimbra. The institution is carried out in the form of a contract, between the institutors and the prior and beneficiados of the church of Santa Justa. The institutors entail various assets, appointed, for the fulfillment of charges, celebrated by the beneficiados of that church, who would receive, annually, 6 000 réis, divided into two tranches. Beneficiados authorize the institutors to be buried in the aforementioned chapel, being able to beautify it as they wish, being, however, obliged to supply various liturgical furnishings.
