Deed of sale

Deed of sale by which António de Sousa de Macedo, Fidalgo da Casa do Rei, D. Mariana Lemercier, his wife, D. Luís Gonçalo de Sousa, Barão da Ilha Grande de Joanes, and D. Mariana de Távora, his wife, sell a public debt instrument of 70 000 réis in Almoxarifado de Alenquer to Filipe Correia, executor of Francisco de Abreu de Faria and Mariana de Torres' will, for 1 conto and 400 000 réis. By doing this, Filipe Correia fulfils their will, since they asked him to buy an interest and to entail it to their chapel established in the church of Santa Maria Madalena, which had to be administrated by the brotherhood of Santíssimo Sacramento of that church.
The public debt instrument had been previously part of the entail founded by António de Sousa de Macedo and his wife. The institutor was allowed to sell it and to use the sale's profit to buy houses in Lisboa, which would be incorporated in that entail. Contains copies of an extract of a will, petitions, dispatches and court sentences.
