Court sentence of Juízo das Capelas to João Freire de Andrade, author, judging the chapel of Doutor Duarte Mendes, in the monastery of Santíssima Trindade of Lisboa, vacant to the Crown, once the last administrator, D. Rodrigo Lobo da Silva, died without descendants or other relatives of the institutor. D. Inês de Almeida, defendant, was condemned to return the entail properties, which she improperly owned.

The desembargadores do Paço should issue the respective administration letter, after presentation of this warrant and the sentence proving its vacancy to the Crown.

Petition

Petition by which Rodrigo Lobo asked for a royal provision on behalf of his son Diogo Lobo, sucessor of Duarte Mendes' entail, in order to sell a "herdade" called "Bencafede" located in Évora. He declared that this entail had other proprieties located in Alcochete. This account of the administration referes these proprieties are composed of "pinhais", "marinhas", farm and vineyards. In 1630, he made another petition referring that the "herdade" was called "Bencafede" and not "Romeiras" as was mentioned in other documents.

Subrogation deed by which Diogo Lobo, grandson and the sucessor of Duarte Mendes's entail, declared that his father Rodrigo Lobo required a royal provision in order to sell a farm in the outskirts of Évora, and to buy others to be incorporated into this entail. He asked to subrogate this property for a "casal" located in the outskirts of Sintra. Preceded by a petition dated 1631-06-14. This documents contains other documents related to the division of the inheritance after Duarte Mendes' death.

Warrant by which Rodrigo Lobo was authorized to sell his "herdade" located in Évora, and with its money purchase other located in Lisboa or in the outskirts of Alcochete. This entail already had some farm and "moinhos" located in the same place. Another warrant dated 1631-04-30 confirmed that this "herdade" was "Bencafede" and not "Romeiras".

Will (extract) by which Duarte Mendes declared that he founded a chapel for his daughter D. Madalena Botelha in her marriage contract, and that his grandchildren should be his heirs and successors. He established that it should be bought a public debt instrument of 25 000 réis for the celebration of masses for his soul in the Monastery of Trindade, in Lisboa.
