Will chart

Will chart of Lourenço Coelho Leitão and D. Ana Cardoso de Távora, his wife. They ordered their grave in their chapel, invoking the Santissímo Sacramento, in the Cathedral of Viseu. The administrators of the chapel would be obliged to ensure that burial, or transfer of their bodies, should they die elsewhere, under penalty of losing the administration. They had built the chapel and endowed it with ornaments and vestments, after signing a contract with D. Frei João de Portugal, bishop of Viseu, later updated between the founders and the Chapter. The chapel was to have four chaplains, two appointed by each administrator. They entail various assets to fulfill the charges. For administrators, on behalf of Lourenço Coelho Leitão, they nominate João Gomes Leitão, his nephew, and on the part of Ana Cardoso de Távora, Manuel Homem Cardoso, his nephew. Together, they also nominate the provider of Misericórdia of Viseu.
João Gomes Leitão was to be succeeded by the founder's closest male relative, who lived in the city of Viseu, with his priority descendants. Manuel Homem Cardoso was to be succeeded by a male descendant. If he didn't have them, the administration would pass to Constantino Moreira, his brother.
Lourenço Coelho Leitão also administered an entail, instituted by his father, who had entailed Cotão's farm, among other properties, appointing, according to the institution, João Gomes Leitão, his nephew, to administer it. He attaches assets to this entail, also for the institution's fulfillment.
Doutor Bonifácio Martins Homem, father of Ana Cardoso de Távora, had left, in his will, an entail with a third of his assets, which his daughter had to administer, with the obligation to also entailed the third part of her assets. However, having spent the whole third of his possessions in the fulfillment of legates, the entail could not be established. She, however, entails assets of her third, for the institution of this entail. She appoints Manuel Homem Cardoso, son of Dionísio Homem Cardoso, her cousin, to administer it.
