Certificate of a donation deed

Certificate of a donation deed made by Manuel Martins and Branca da Veiga, his wife, in 1589-05-20. They donate a a farm, called Araes for the institution and construction of a chapel dedicated to S. Brás, in Albufeira. They determine that they be buried in this chapel, that it be administered by the prior of the mother church, with charge of masses.
It contains a license of the bishop, authorizing the institution of the chapel of S. Brás (dated 1586-11-22) and a dispatch of the bishop ordering the fulfillment of the license for the institution of the chapel (dated 1588-12-02).

Composition deed

Composition deed between Manuel Martins, son of João Martins and Beatriz Luís, and frei João Rodrigues Neto, prior of the mother church of Albufeira. The first asks the licenciado António Teixeira de Freitas, corregedor, proveder e contador in the Algarve, to give him possession of the chapel, established by Manuel Martins and Branca da Veiga, in the mother church of Albufeira, claiming that, according to the will of the institutor and being the property of entail, his father could not resign to them in his name.
For his part, João Rodrigues Neto, to whom the administration had been handed over, renounces it, giving permission for Manuel Martins to own it.
The contract was confirmed by the sentence of licenciado António Teixeira de Freitas, corregedor, provedor e contador in the Algarve (dated 1599-11-22).

Brás, instituted by Manuel Martins and Branca da Veiga, his wife.

Resignation deed

Resignation deed of the chapel of São Brás, instituted by Manuel Martins and Branca da Veiga, his wife, passed on at the request of frei João Rodrigues Neto, prior of the mother church of Albufeira, by warrant of licenciado António Teixeira de Freitas, corregedor, provedor e contador in the Algarve, subscribed by Vicente Ribeiro de Almeida, escrivão da provedoria de Lagos.
The provedor orders João Martins to be notified of the petition presented by frei João Rodrigues Neto. João Martins one appears with Beatriz Luís, his wife and, after looking at the records and reading the institution, they give up the administration of the chapel.
