Will chart

Will chart by which Francisco Lopes and Margarida Dias, his wife, designated each other to inherit all their assets after the death of one of them. After the decease of the last surviving member of the couple, Francisco Lopes' assets would be inherited by Bárbara Rodrigues, his niece, on the condition that she had to change her name to Bárbara Lopes and could not sell or exchange the inherited properties for others. She and her descendants were obligated to support the celebration of 2 annual masses for the testators' souls in the church of S. João of Lumiar. If she died childless, the entail would be transmitted to the institutor's closest relative who used the family name "Lopes".
Margarida Dias declares that her assets must be inherited by her nephews, Gaspar Fernandes and Luísa Antunes, who were henceforth obligated to celebrate 4 annual masses for the testators' souls in that church. If they decided to divest those properties, they had to guarantee that they would always be associated to that pious obligation.
